In order to become a member of the DSLC, you must be a current member of DSA, fill out the DSLC membership application, and be either a member of a DSA Labor Formation or meet one of the following criteria:
- Be a union or worker center member or retiree.
- Work for a union, worker center, or legal advocacy firm that represents workers.
- Be a part of a workplace organizing drive.
- Be a journalist, academic, or writer with a focus in labor studies and/or political economy.
The deadline to become a member of the DSLC and vote in the current DSLC Steering Committee election was January 6th, and has passed. Those interested in joining the DSLC may still join the DSLC using the link above, and are encouraged to do so.
Nominations for the Democratic Socialist Labor Commission Steering Committee closed at 11:59 pm PST on January 9, 2020.
Candidates will have the opportunity to submit statements soon. Instructions on submitting the statements will be emailed to each candidate. Statements will be due by January 16th.
Be on the lookout on February 3rd with an email for DSLC members with details on the voting process and a link to candidate statements. Voting will open on February 6th and close February 12th at 11:59 pm.
The new Steering Committee will be announced on February 15th.
