On January 10th, 2018, the United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) will be going on strike. In solidarity, the DSLC will be sending rank and file teacher union militants and strike leaders from around the country to Los Angeles to support and connect with UTLA strike leaders.
The UTLA strike represents the next phase of the roiling teacher rebellion. The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is the nation’s second largest school system with over 690,000 students. The impact of this strike will be huge not only in the fight to defend public sector unions, but in the fight against school privatization.
In support of the effort to send labor militants to the picket line, we urge all to donate to the fundraising page linked below to help fund travel for teacher strike leaders and unionists from around the country. Please donate as soon as possible and share the link for our fundraiser.
