The National Labor Commission (DSA Labor) is a body of DSA members active in the labor movement, whether as union members and stewards, workers attempting new union drives, union staff, workers center activists, union officers, labor journalists, union retirees, students in labor solidarity groups, labor-oriented intellectuals, or in DSA chapter labor solidarity efforts.
DSA Labor was formed in fulfillment of a priority resolution adopted at the 2017 DSA National Convention and re-affirmed at the 2019 and 2021 conventions. Our mission is to build working class power and support a fighting labor movement to win socialism. The NLC seeks to be a central node of labor-related organizing resources, advises the NPC on matters relating to labor, builds channels within DSA for labor activist networking and discussions, develops resources to tackle the challenges faced by socialists in their workplaces, and ultimately strengthens an intersectional, worker-led struggle.
